Bob the Builder

23 May 2010

Here's Bob - the cake I have just made for my son's 11th birthday - you are never too old for Bob! It's been quite hot for the UK and Bob's head kept slipping.

Big Top

30 April 2010

This one is for the school fair which is having a circus theme. I didn't realise how small I would have to make the figures - so it all got a bit fiddly!!

Ken's Flying Scotsman

09 March 2010

Had a run of disasters with this one.  Didn't leave myself much time and when I cut the first cake - it hadn't cooked all the way through - so had to do another one.  Meant it was a bit rushed.  Quite happy with the result bearing in mind the timescale!

22 January 2010

This is the fabulous cake my two sons aged 7 & 10 made me for my birthday!

This one was going well - then just as I decided to move the cake into a box I damaged the tree and the elephant's head fell off - hopefully the repairs will last until we cut the cake tomorrow!

Elephant Update

20 December 2009

Unfortunately when we ate the elephant cake - the cake was really dry and not nice at all.  I think I used different flour - so am now experimenting with my recipes.  Better luck next time!

Elephant

28 November 2009

Busy week this week.  Cookies for school Christmas bazaar and birthday cake for Grandma.  Very pleased with the way they all turned out!

Feather's for Zoe

11 November 2009

Tried something a little more ambititous.  Unfortunately my 6" cake tin only arrived on Friday - collection was arranged for Sunday - not enough time.  I successfully managed to trim the crusts from the two top layers - but number 3 fell to pieces and couldn't be saved.  Tried to buy ...
