Sugar Flower Making Courses and Cake Decorating Workshops Inspired by the Beauty of Nature

Sugar Craft has been an exciting part of my life for more than twenty years now. I have been teaching specialist Courses and Workshops in the art of Sugar Flower Making for many years. I also hold day workshops on how to cover and decorate Wedding and Celebration cakes.

The course's are very much inspired by the Beauty of Nature and so offer the opportunity to learn how to create in flower paste, many of the flowers and foliage that we love and see in our Gardens and Hedgerows, plus exotic flowers also...

My Courses are open to complete beginners with no pervious experience or the more advanced wishing to develop their skills further. The atmosphere is always very welcoming, friendly and relaxed, which offers a very calm and peaceful place to be Creative, amongst like minded people.

You Will Learn:

• How to work with and handle flower paste.
• Various ways of wiring individual petals and foliage.
• How to shape, soften, vein and dry petals and leaves to create realistic looking flowers and foliage.
• How to create the Pistils, stamens, calyx's and centres for your flowers.
• How to dust your flowers and foliage to create the realistic depths of colour found naturally on flowers and leaves.
• How to steam your flowers and leaves to blend the colours and also how to use Glaze.
• Some of my courses include painting onto sugar to achieve the detailed markings found on some flowers and leaves and the wings of Butterflies etc
• How to assemble the flowers and foliage you have made into a Beautiful spray, Hand tied Bouquet or arrangement, depending on the course.

At the end of all the courses I run everyone goes home with a finished piece of work that can be used to decorate a Wedding or Celebration cake.
